How to Create an Event Object as an Admin?

This tutorial guides you through creating an event from the admin perspective, covering all necessary configurations. Before starting, ensure you have admin access and all event details prepared.

1. Understand Admin Event Creation

As an admin, you can create events that are published directly to the calendar, no approval needed. You'll also have access to additional configuration options like ticketing, budgets, and form customization. Let's get started. Log in to your account.

2. Access Event Creation Page

Click the plus button and the 'Add an Event' button to open the event creation form.

3. Fill Event Details And Images

Fill in the title, and choose images for the cover photo and thumbnail.

4. Enter Label

Add a custom label that will appear in the top left of the thumbnail on your main hub.

5. Enter your Event Description

Continue the event creation process by filling in your event description with all details your attendees should know.

6. Add Event Tags

Select tags that are relevant to the event to help maximize visibility.

7. Set Event Start And End Times

Choose the event start time and the event end time.

8. Choose Event Removal Date

If your event does not have an end time, choose the 'Close date' to identify the time you want the event removed from the calendar.

9. Access Event Address Field

Enter the Event Address to enter the location details for your event.

10. Add External Registration And Social Links

If you need an external registration link, place it here. If you have a social media link that you want to appear on the right sidebar, place it here along with the label. Then Click next.

Tickets unlock a new layer for admins. You have the ability to create coupons, memberships, and have tickets that generate a QR code for the residents for paid tickets, free tickets, and donation tickets.

If you are not creating tickets for your event, click Next.

14. Enable Registration Without Tickets

You can still enable registration for your event, regardless if you are not selling tickets. One of the main differences is that for registration, no QR codes will be generated.

15. Schedule Registration Opening

If you want to schedule whenever registration or ticket sales will open to the public, you can add that in the Registration open to public field.

16. Save Draft And Manage Privacy

Toggle on any of the following settings if you need to save your event as a draft and come back to it later or To hide the amount of registrants.

17. Schedule Event Publication

If you would like to schedule this event to publish to your calendar at a specific date and time, fill in the information under Published Date and Time. If you're ready to publish it, skip this step.

18. Auto-Populate Profile Information

Your event will auto-populate with your profile information, because by default 'Are you organizing this event' is turned on. If you need to change your information from guest to your city name or department, you can still save and publish your event and change it later, and it will update.

19. Create Event For Another Organization

If you are creating your event on behalf of another organization, toggle off 'Are you organizing this event' and provide the details. Ensure that you have a real unique phone number for that organizer and upload their photo.

20. Control Organizer Details Visibility

Only admins have the ability to hide organizer details. If you toggle this on, it will suppress your profile or any information you've placed here. Instead the event will adopt the identity of the hub. In this case, it would say the organizer is Demo Hub. Click next.

21. Review Initial Registration Questions

22. Add Event-Specific Questions

In addition, you can add more questions to be answered just for this particular event. Choose from text, selection, data fields, and more.

23. Add Answer Option

Click an option and customize the question, description and any options.

Choose if this information is required to be filled out. Choose Apply.

25. Save And Publish Event

Now you can save and publish your event.
